your pressing the wrong button dude,
the one in the middle that looks like a bme emblem is to lock the car,
so if you press it while the car is locked, then the lights inside will come on,
but your doors will remain closed/locked. :thumb:
But, if you do infact press the right button, then it might be your key needs to be reprogrammed.
go to any dealership and they can do it for you, they did it for me once for free,
just be polite, ask nicely, and I am sure they will do it for you no charge.

If it is the key that need to be reprogramme, then you can just search around on this forum the procedure has been mentioned a couple of times and only take about half a minute to perform (DIY).

Seeing as you have 2002 model I assume you have the diamond key, so the battery might need to be replaced, but the battery "can't" be replaced so the dealers will try and sell you a new key, but if you search around on the internetz you should be able to find a DIY to replace the key battery, if I am not mistake RS-components sells the batteries.

Rather find the DIY thread than going to the stealers!!

They want to book my car in and charge me minimum of R400 just to program my central locking to lock the car as I start driving!!! That is so crazy, I burst out laughing and said I'd rather get hi-jacked... it is the same thing!! They did not think that was very funny...
