Catalytic Converter

Hi All,

My car is no longer covered by motor plan, hence the reason for my question,

Is it a good thing to remove the catalytic converter on the exhaust of my E90, 320d?

I see that some say you gain lots of power and others say "do not do it".

Are there anybody here who did it? And would you do it again?

Do you recommend it to all or should I just forget about it?

Hi bud. I have had about 5 diesels so far and I de cat everytime. Reduces the back pressure a bit on the turbo and I have never had any problems once it's been removed.

Does your car not bellow black smoke after removing it?

Im sure you will have allot more smoke coming out...
Usually see the back bumper of de-catted diesels are dirtier.

But should feel more responsive when accelerating, and the turbo wont run as hot

Doing a decat can only yield positive results , especially on a high km car. You won’t notice a major increase in smoke. Throttle response will also improve slightly. It is often good practice to go for a software remap after a decat to make the best of it. :coolShake:
