I have replaced the head gasket. And now I'm suffering with noise escaping from the catalytic converter / frontpipe gasket. I have had a few exhaust repair shops take a look at it and I have even had it replaced twice (with non genuine parts).
Will using a genuine BMW gasket solve the problem of the gasket coming loose over a couple of days? (The bolts slowly come loose and let out the noise). The gasket that the exhaust shops are installing are pure metal - not like the gasket that came off the pipe in the first place. The original gasket is more of a "fibre".
Do I also need to use "lock-bolts" as BMW insists?
any help will be appreciated.
