Good day All: biglol:

A friend warn me about Catalizator for BMW that stop working and then the vehicle cannot function without it. Then another friend told me that you can remove the Catalizator and the car will work fine.

1. What is the truth in this regard?
2. What will the symptoms be when this device is not functioning correctly?

Thank you.

A catyltic converter

What car and Auto or manual to answer you correctly as the cats clean themselves automatically once you go for a drive on the highway and the cats is dirty

it will cost less then 2k to take out

Just do a Decat or DP and disable the oxygen sensor and all is fine

I've also heard a lot about Decat. What are the advantages/disadvantages of this? And what is a DP?

I have a 2008 E90 320d and Motorplan just ran out. Who can do the Decat?

We can do both, Centre-Cats are easy, Cats on the downpipe are a bit more involved, because of the sensors etc

Thanks for all the info guys, much appreciated. I will investigate and get it done once this long month of January is over with.

By the way, any advice on where to service this car now that the Motorplan expired? My offices are in Auckland Park and I stay in the Northcliff/Cresta area

Incorrect there's secondary cats in the centre box, Realoem denotes it as a silencer
