That broom and dust pan was for sweeping up all the sand and grass that poor car picked up while rolling in the kitty litter

I was there yesterday to drop off more parts. They stopped working on her since Tues, to finish another car. They've only stripped her for now to see what parts they need. They start on her on Mon/Tues.

I took the following yesterday:
door glass,
new air ducts and fog light brackets (cos they different) for the new bumper,
item number 2 in diagram
reinforcement bracket that we waited for from Germany

Just make sure to give the car a good look over once it is reassembled, panel beaters a notorious for being some of the worst fitters around.

The car will be like brand new when its finished. My brother in law's company uses this guy all the time.
He takes his time working on the car. The gaps between the panels will look like it comes from the factory, all even.
At normal panelbeaters, you can tell if a car was repaired cos the gaps are huge.

Glad you fixing! Good luck. Just something to consider regarding the colour - you effectively going to be the only 130i in orange and will pretty much ruin any chance of selling it on later (because of the buyer knowing of the major repair work). Unless you already decided to keep it for quite some time.

That aside, I think VO will look awesome.

Months ago I decided not to sell her, cos when I do decide to sell her I wont get her book value (at the time of selling). (value in Sept '10 was R250k). Shes worth less than R120k now. They wont re-activate the motorplan either :(
Thats why I've decided to change the colour and start modifying her. Gonna keep her.

I've told them to also take pics. I'm gonna go every Tues and Fri.

I've done my final decision on the colour, gonna do it Monte Carlo blue.

The family had a debate, on Sat night at the braai, about the orange.

You should have come to me, I was there for about 45mins, to get parts and to chat to Jacqui. Also went upstairs to see if any nice new cars were waiting for delivery.

The blue will age better. I might get sick of the orange in 3 years time. I'm keeping the car, not gonna sell it.

I'm going to the panelshop later

 I joked at them saying "Are you installing a roll cage for me".

This guy is brilliant at his repairing. He takes about a month.

I think an avg panelbeater wouldn't strip the car this much to repair it properly. He stripped it like this to see if the floor was damaged slightly on the inside and to check behind the dashboard for any other damage caused by the A pillar, cos there was a crack in the main "body skeleton" where the outer skin of the "base of the A pillar" overlaps it. (Next time I'm there I will take a pic of the spot where I'm talking about)

I'm hoping to have it finished for the Park-Off on 30 Oct
