Carbon finally getting repaired

The part finally arrived this morning. It was a week late cos the shipment in Germany left it behind.

I hope the car will be ready for the show on 26 Nov

No more pics. Nothing has changed since I last took pics. The lastest pic is in my signature.

BMW dropped off the panel at the panelbeater on Fri afternoon. I went on Sat. They were busy taking the spot welds apart. I'm going again this Friday, will take pics

They sent me these pics now. They said the panel fits perfectly, which means all the other parts that join it weren't damaged or outta alignment.

Glad to see that there is some progress again.

Went just now to see the progress. They've spot wielded the side panel on, fitted the front cradle, tailgate and busy doing the door. (see pics below)

When they temporarily placed the windscreen into place to see if everything is lined up they saw that the roof was shifted about 6mm to the right. They've straightened it now. The sunroof fits in perfectly.

They gonna try finish it by 15 Dec when they close for the holidays.

I'm not going for the orange anymore, after looking at the 1M that was at the Park Off. The orange isn't great in the winter weather conditions, its a summer colour. You need the bright sun to see the proper orange colour effect.

I'm gonna go for the Monte Carlo blue instead.
