I posted this on the DIY forum, but didnt have any serious help...hoping for better on this forum..

I want to install my carbon front splitters and rear diffuser on my M3. I understand one can either use some sort of glue /epoxy (betalink k1?) or the 3M double sided tape?

Any recommendations?

Thanks

3M double sided tape because you can get it off after and you dont have to worry about excess glue...

i dont know where to get it though...

Hey there,
I had splitter, mirror covers and rear boot spoiler all fitted with the 3M tape.

Like Onyx said, make sure the surface is clean

Make sure it sticks correctly the first time, it is bitch to pull out

Hope this helps

You can either use the white colored thick/thin sponge type, or the black colored thin rubber (automotive) type.
Usually the black one sticks better. Shop at Midas for either.

You can use said tape sparingly and strengthen the fitment afterwards (i.e. the outsides) using a glue gun.
The glue gun's polypropylene can be broken off fairly easily in the case of removal or accident...

I've got a pdf from BMW for fitting on the carbon splitters on PreLCI E9x, E9x LCI, E92 lCI and E9x M3. However i don't know how to share it online.

But from what i discovered, they all very simple to fit. BMW did recommend i use Betalink glue, which can be purchased from them. However the 3m works better as in the event of taking them off you shouldn't run into any problems. I haven't installed mine as yet but all of the above BMW's use the existing screws at the bottom of the bumper. So no need to worry of it coming off.
