George, do you think now that an article like this is freely available , that BMW will stand up and take notice? Not in the sense that they need to admit that the Direct Injection is a problem, but look for a way to cancel owners Motorplans for undertaking such work?

The article does not expose any vehicle in particular. And carbon doctor works on many non BMW cars as well. I don't see the risk for owners. It is going to require a lot of investigation by BMW to look into this...but the issue is it would be plain silly of them if they do.

Thanks for your guys points of view. I just feel 'some' dealerships go abit overboard and would consider voiding your Motorplan for angel eyes .
At the end of the day, this is preventative maintenance and will only help keep the car healthier for longer and perform much better

i think they did a carbon clean on my car when they were trying to work out what was wrong with it. i asked them if they had done it after 1 month of having my car at the dealership and trying to find the problem. they said they would. since getting my car back consumption has improved dramatically and i get an extra 50km to every tank.

carbon cleaning ftw!
