Has anyone found a notable difference between these two filters?

Carbon/Charcoal Activated Filter vs Regualar Filter.

Your first image was the older part, it had the plastic housing around the filter

Part had a suppression and supplier was changed, this the new filter that looks similar to the one in your second image is the latest Micro filter for the E60's
