y would anyone want to spray their carbon items. Does it not defeat the purpose of it all.

make yr mirrors black and do yr roof as well bru.

just to finish everything off.

Im pretty sure the purpose of carbon fibre isn't to look like carbon fibre, but more the idea is to save weight?

It's called multi purpose :hammerhead: .. About 99% of the people who buy CF for their car are just buying it for the looks..

It's like sticking on a carbon fibre spoiler, not exactly going to save me weight (would gain!) :p But looks cool :)

Haha, yeah, i do agree it can look cool, but it has to be tastefully done. A few accents here and there, for example, your boot spoiler look great, it has a contrast with the white paint. But ultimately you have to admit carbon fibre is there as a weight saving tool? Its there for ultimate performance in cars?

Yeah totally, but I just think the average joe that buys CF is not looking at the weight loss, just joining the CF visual craze! "look at mah car i haz the cf" you know :) hahaha.

to the OP - liking the car though!

I agree, that is really styling and done with a touch of class :dropjaw:

I shudder to say this, as I love chrome, but perhaps a black powdercoat on those rims would do well, and I agree with the roof lining needs some attention.... but otherwise :clap::clap:

Panel beaters did everything, but having some trouble with the bonnet fitting its sticking out by 1cm. The car still needs some finishing touches i hope they can sort it out.

I also noticed that. Also have them check the right side of the bootlid. It also seems to be sitting a bit higher.

Unless I'm mistaken, all you need is self-etching primer, and then a sprayshop can spray it like it were any other panel.

Welcome to the forums,

Ride looks nice, but not my cup of tea, I would of colour coded everything, made the boot and bonnet silver, maybe left the air vents in the bonnet CF.
Also I would spray the black rubber stripes down the side of the car silver as well.
You also need to Badge that boot, doesnt look great with the whole for the badge there, and if you dont badge it, fill it up before you paint it :p

I can honestly say the only thing I like about the car is the wheels, the rest looks real cheap'n'nasty.

Oh and next time you spend R6500 on a cf bonnet make sure its for YOUR facelift sedan and not a pre-facelift one...

You. Can. Paint. Carbon. Fibre.

The only reason you see a lot of unpainted carbon fibre is because people are showing off. I think 2 standard coats of primer and 3 coats colour does the trick better, but the carbon weave might show through the paint depending on how well it's done.

I saw a Ferrari F40, the weave was showing through the paint. Methinks they may have been trying to save weight by only using 1 coat of paint.

I would also paint the carbon fiber. Leaving it exposed is nice for smaller items, but trunk and hood (as the americans say) looks beter painted.
Then I would lose the rear bumper.... and good eye from Gizmo for spotting that it's the wrong hood.
But it's the OP's car, so whatever he likes is all that matters.

And painting carbon isn't a big deal if your bodyshop knows what they're doing.
