Need a little advice, i need my car serviced, 2004 E46 318i
i called BMW SMG and a major service costs R3200.
called SAC and the same service costs R1700
Now i need to know, is it worth spending the extra cash to go to BMW and to keep up the FSH?
Anyone has any experience with SAC?

a fellow fanatic has experience with SAC, and it is still haunting him. I would rather look for another place to go to.

Is in Cape Town. BMW SMG is also in Cape Town. The real question is, where in Cape Town does he live?

I've used their services. They good and reasonably priced as well. Also there is Siegfried Auto opposite goodhope centre. Last work on my car was done by Faizal from Siegfried, and Faizal's service delivery on a personal level is better than Brilliant.

Either way, both are good and priced about the same, it's about what's more convenient for you

Speak to Nigel Mercer at Brilliant. He is the MD. Tell him james with the tds referred you. Spent 7k in their shop the past month and very pleased with their work.

In my personal opinion, whether the car has a service history at BMW or whether it has it with a reputable private garage, then it makes no difference to me. If the car had no service history, or partial service history, then that would be cause for concern.

+1 what Funky Toyz said

Out of motorplan service history with BMW is overrated. SAC will dissapoint you. If you're lucky they will replace spark plugs and wash the car, and in the process overtorque them too. Unless you personally know someone who is going to work on your car, and know them well. I'd also avoid SAC.
