CAR PULLING LEFT HELP PLEASE

It's the castor settings! Nothing wrong with alignment as Euro spec roads cambers to the right, so the castor setting is a little to the left and being in SA where the camber is to the left, it will pull left!!

AS FAR AS I CAN READ current settings are L +6 39' and R +6 41'

does the 2' make such a difference?,
if you dont mind, what you suggest the be ?
i would like them to make the adjustment and see what works best.

When I meant by castor settings, I apologise I didn't mean it can be resolved through alignment.

What I did in the past was go to the agents, get SA spec castor bolts and have them fitted. Problem solved!

Hope this helps

How long before that BMW alignment did you have your previous alignment done?

when i bought the car from bmw 2012 35000 km ago.
i asked them to check about 10000km ago but they said if the car runs straight and tyres are not wearing its not neccessary.

i'm assuming that the previous alignment setting were all out of spec because it was tweaked to make the other tyres run straight. I must say whoever did it did a great job because i had even tyre wear and the car ran dead straight !
now with the new tyres the alignment was out of spec and even though corrected, its the castor settings as suggested in above posts ( which is probably why the alignment was tweaked in the first place ).

but this is my assumptions based on what i have learned in the last few weeks and my limited knowledge of suspensions.

does it make sense or is my assumptions all wrong ?

Oh, and it's usually just the left front wheel that would require the castor bolts.

thanx thats great advice!

i will suggest that to them

hi rodz

bmw say they havent heard of the sa spec castor bolts.

any chance you have a part number ?

ps bmw wheel alignment made it worse

Beemer never know what they talking about. Most places that deal with alignment and wheel & tire fitment will know what I'm referring to. It's castor bolts, when fitted, it aligns the wheels, can't give any other description than that.

where do these caster bolts go? I really cant see where you would adjust front caster given the type of front suspension the car has...

SORRY GUYS
i was out of town for a week
bmw sa phoned me yesterday to follow up. needless to say i said exactly what i thought of them. I even asked them to cancel payment until it was correctly done. They said they cant because even if it wasnt done corrrectly they still have to pay because of the diagnostics involved. How pathetic is that ? they suggested i try a different dealership they will pay again ! Thats just dumb.
so even if the work is done incorrectly BMW motorplan still pays them hence there is no accountabilty nor any reason to do the job CORRECTLY the first time.

this is the only one i have@moranor
