Car lighter...

My phone charger stopped working, I checked out the fuse, it seemed fine. Tried the lighter and it works.
I will try another working phone charger, if it also does not work what could the problem be?
I saw a similar problem on bimmerfest, but with no sollution.

My money would be on it being the charger, if the lighter still work then you are pretty sure that socket still works.

Yes, but like I said, I saw a similar problem on bimmerfest...where the lighter work, but no other working tools that can plug into the socket will work. I will try the charger in question on another car and update it it does indeed work.
I will then try my old charger (that is working) and let you guys know. :thumb:

Check to see if the "other devices" are making contact inside the lighter socket.
Sometimes you may have to use a non conductive instrument to adjust the contact points on the sides of the socket.

Most probably a dirty contact in the lighter socket, which is causing intermittent contact issues. Take some strong cleaning chemical (e.g. benzine) and wipe out the bottom of the socket.

Also clean out the lighter - if it has burnt ashes on the end then this is spreading to the contact.

Open up the charger,it could be that the fuse inside the charger is blown.
