Hi Guys,

Im looking to purchase an outdoor car cover for my 120i '09 cabrio.
called the dealers for one, they will have to order from germany whic could take upto 3 weeks at a price of R2200.00.

Anyone know of other places I can purchase one? Quality is a must as I have heard of paint damage with inferior quality covers.

Much appreciated.:=):

Got my mom the Midas type for R300, and the only issue is the elastic that wears out, so now she uses washing pegs to keep it to the bumper.

Shes has it for over 2 years now without paint damage. Its a 1997 Corolla.

I know midas also has a more expensive one that is like R600? but I also bought the cheap R300 one and it worked fine but it tore when a big storm came, I would say if you want a decent one take a look at something like this Link or Link

Stingray - from Game OR Makro = Paid 600 bucks last Nov. This is great quality and is three layered if I remember correctly. Has both elastic and straps for tie down. Works well on the E36 for longer duration. Quite bulky compared to the AutoZone type

The one from Autozone with the elastic only around the edge. They weakened very fast with the strong winds and shear easily. Had the tailor add new elastic and straps. Use it on the E46 which is my DD. Quick to remove and store into the boot.

Hi,

I had a car cover made by a company called Skinz.

They had a website that is seems to be under construction.

Attached is a picture of the cover.

Under the cover is my previous car , Ford Sapphire

Regards

The Stingray 3 layer one is great for the price, I have had several and they have never left any marks on the car and fitted well

If you plan on using it allot for outdoors I would say get at least a 5 or 6 layer, 3 layer is fine for covering your car up in the garage or the occasional outdoor covering. it all depends on how you plan to use it

Thats great I am aware of the company, just never thought to consider them as they specialize in bike covers...I will be dropping them a mail for a quote.

I did manage to obtain contact details for them although their site is under construction.
