Hi, I just bought my 2002 e46 330i.

I was just wondering what is the best colour coat car polish out there??

I've heard Turtle wax is the best but I only find it in a dark green and my car is light green, so I don't know. I'va always used Holtz, so what do you think?

And what about leather care?

Thanks people.

The best car care products available in SA are Maguire's & Mothers for the full range and :thumbs:best prices write to crazyridez330 on the forum or email [email protected]

That's a rather broad and incorrect statement. It all depends on your application. For example, Sonax could make a good polish, Meguiars a good wax, etc. Also, certain products work well on certain colours too, while others do not. Even certain brands of cars have different clear coats which react differently to different products too.

+1

Mothers and Meguiars are good starter products. But certainly not the best on the market.

I've used Megs product and they are great. I started with a kit for R150 which gives you the Soft wash, cleaner wax, sponge and applicator pad. Works well no complaints.

But

Then decided to try the Sonax kit. Its a complete kit with a wash concentrate, polish, rim cleaner, wax, sponge and applicator pad for R170.

The Sonax system is much better and better value for money i have to say. The shine on the car is amazing.

Best wash: Chemical guys CWG, this one is debatable I know.

Best polish: Menzerna. No arguments.

Best wax: This is a tough one, all depends on the purpose of the car. Collinite for a daily IMO.

Leather care: I use Gliptone cleaner and the conditioner, they are amazing.

As to colour specific polishes they are rubbish IMO, seeing as your car has a clear coat as the top layer I don't see how a so called colour polish will be any good.

Ok, great :ty:

I have always just used rally car wash and holtz colour match.

Then I heard Turtle wax is a better colour coat polish but after some reading up they say it get's dull very quickly and you have to keep using it all the time.. So that's not going to work for me. I never used waxes but it keeps the shine for much longer so will start using it after the polish.

I will have a look at what I can get my hands on.. Thanks for all the replies.
