Car came back worst than it went in....

Hi Guys.
When I bought my car from a dealership, I found a few faults including my front bumper which had a bad scratch, the remote did not lock the car like it suppose to and the backrest button was not working on the drivers side. They painted the front bumper end of last year and the color was not correct and i sent it in 10 days ago to get these faults fixed. I was told to fetch my car yesterday as it was ready and to my HORROR I saw the color on the bumper was even worse, they stripped my remote and glued it back like crap and still does not lock my car and the button that was on the side was lying on the center console.

And it gets worse. I sent my car in with almost half tank of diesel and when I received it......23km was the kilos i could do with the fuel in it. The car was not even washed.

I am so pissed off.:cry::cry::cry::argh::argh::argh:

They always finish the petrol / diesel in the car , I hate it , I wonder what they'll do if I give it to them with the reserve light already on ? And sorry about your car , Name and shame the dealer

Name and shame dude! and this type of nonsense normally happens with non-franchise dealers, private guys but recently, the franchise dealers have adopted this pathetic attitude as well, which is definitely not expected especially from BMW and the likes

Contact the dealer principal about this without delay.

He "should" sort this out for you ASAP. As his business/dealership can be fined R 250 000 from BMW SA for not adhering to the service charter etc.

If you don't come right at the dealership then contact the BMW SA complaints line.

Hope you get this sorted

Hey guys, I have been on the fone all day arguing with them about my complaints. They said i must get them quotes and they will give me chqs to pay for the repairs. Testing them, I got a quote from my co. (Randow Panelbeaters) and requested a very low quote to re-paint the bumper and blend the relevant panels and the quote came to R3500. When i called them to tell them what figure they are looking at, the response was "Why is it so much?" I explained to manager, if you paint the bumper, blending of the surrounding panels is required so the new paint and the old paint dont show a difference due to the paint aging.

I have attached pics of the remote I received back from them and this use to be a brand new remote which was purchased by the previous owner very recently. According to them via telephone which I have a recording off, the car was at BMW getting the remote and locking sorted. I don't think that BMW will ever work like this.

I don't want to name and shame them yet, I first need to get the problem resolved.

Just for reference, just mailed this off to the GM for MINI:

Good Morning Karen

I hope you are well and having a MINIriffic week.

A bit of a random mail from me but I dont know who else to contact which can assist.

I have a friend who has a BMW 320D (yes I know its not a MINI Haha) which has received some absolutely atrocious service from a BMW Dealer and has shared his experiences online on the BMW Fanatics Forum.

Besides him, there are a huge amount of fanatics out there which absolutely love their cars which are not getting any feedback from BMW SA about complaints.

I know you deal with MINI so this is just me trying my luck but could you possibly put me in touch with someone at BMW SA that can resolve these issues? We are not talking about minor complaints but rather issues where clients have lost faith in the BMW brand, some saying they will never buy BMW again which I am sure you agree is very sad - Particularly as I feel it will eventually begin to affect the MINI Brand.

This is on a public forum (the largest in SA certainly) and is extremely damaging.

I hope you will be able to assist, as none of these serious complaints are being resolved.

Have a great week further!

P.S - Loving the ads and ad placements for MINI they really are doing the trick.

Kind regards,
Michael Stafford (Ex MINI Agent at Auto Atlantic)

She may be able to assist, she may not but she is excellent at what she does and I trust she will be able to give me someone we can work with.

Why do I suspect this is Lyndhurst?

Mike

I don't want to name and shame them yet, I first need to get the problem resolved. YET being the key word.

I will never recommend them to anyone. Not after the service I got. I had to call and find out what was going on with my car, they made bookings several times to fetch the car but never turned up. I am so heart broken about this. I waited so long to buy a BMW and finally get the right specs and to be let down. Why did they even call me to say the car was ready? WHY WHY WHY :flyfun::flyfun::flyfun::flyfun:

no problem with naming them... if the sort you out just post that they sorted it...

mistakes happen if they resolve the issues and you happy with the outcome it can reflect well on them in the end and im sure they will not try pull crap like this again knowing it might end up on the forum...
