people with supposedly superior cars usually dont have to try so hard to prove their point, unless of course these supposedly superior cars arent as superior as the difference in price tag indicates. not so Jerez?

335i's , believe it or not desirable cars in the EU.The aspiration is towards the look of the M models as the 335i/d SE or M sport looks the same as the 318d M sport.
Yes the prices are vast and the power differences not much different but in the BMW family it's just not a special car, a fast one but not a special one.

There seems to be a very different outlook on SA though. " black machine" went out in the track with an M an he's a 335 owner and he's converted ... So that must say something .... The M has something more - read his post

The Superiority Complex?

You guys are making the mistake which other fanatics do, not read the initial post and just bounce off the last comments made.
Now you're having a personal dig at me - even if I didn't own an M ,I'd still big it up the way I have been.. An that's because all M cars are a cut above the rest.
This is not me saying it but the rest of the BM loving world .

It is interesting however to see a group of fanatics not being big fans of BMWs flagship model...
The question is.... Are you really fanatics or haters of those who have superior cars?

I guess for me , from as far back as I can remember.. Anything with M colours and wings made my heart skip a beat.
The MLE,333,e30 M3 and others with M heritage did it for me.
Wasn't a fan of the 323i but the 325i shadowline - wasn't a fan of the e28 528i but the 530 and 535.... So I gues I'm saying that no matter how much of remapping you do to anything less than an M is not going to make it an M.

Wasn't at all a dig at you Jerez and I apologise if it seemed that way. It's just that this topic has been the centre of attention so many times that whenever it's brought up, the same things are said and people just end up veering off topic.

+1 on the Isetta lol.

Jerez why do you say that the M3 as the flagship
model is not appreciated but hated on?

You started the thread putting the two models up against each other. It seems you are the only one on the forum stirring this discussion; no one else really seems interested in this topic.

It does not matter what you own. We love all bmw's. The M3 is a special car. I dont think that is being disputed.

But so is the 120d and the 328 and the 116 and the 540 etc...we all feel the car that we drive is special.

Quit the M3 vs 335 debate man. What are you going to say when the new M3 makes its bow; which will just be an upgraded 335 model - This kind of debate becomes silly in the bigger scheme of things.

Twinz, I agree with a lot you have said there. I am not certain I understand your comment regarding the new M3 being an upgraded 335. If I look back at my first M3(E36), the 328 was a brilliant car but the M3 was not in my opinion an upgraded 328. I guess we all have different opinions so I respect yours.
But as you said, each car is special, mine being my first BMW I bought with my own cash being a 318is. Still love that car even though I have driven a 325is, 335i and every M3.

Guys, love what you have, appreciate what others have and just be a BMW fanatic. Once these cars are in your blood it's difficult to get them out,no matter WHAT you drive. I realised that when I bought my Audi,it just wasn't a BMW.
We are all here for the same reason,to love BMW's, and as a general rule we do.
If we collectively want to hate a car, the Audi S3 gets my nod......:roflol:

I would add the RSQ3 to that list. :yuck:

BMW in my opinion built the various models to cater for various market segments. To then compare and pit the 2 against each other would be pointless. Apples versus Oranges :bangdesk:

Ok, now Apple fans can get on their soap box and tell us how the iPhone is the best :biglol::roflol:

Think Jerez owned a Gti in his previous lifetime...I love the E92 M, but you cant say its a better car than the 335i in the same way you can't say a 335i is better than a M3. The 2 cars were not designed for the same function.
Can the mods just close these threads in future, all the threads end the same way...:nonono:

Hey, I see my name's been used in the original post :nonono:

Haha, just joking.:roflol:

Its been a while, this debate will never die. Come on now guys, lets get more input heat things up a bit.

I say the 335 wobbles around corners like its wheels are on sideways.

Oops, that was Richard Hammond telling Clarkson about the C63 :fencelook:

I really do not think you could have said it better

I will not even waste my time contributing to this useless debate. I've owned an ///M car, an AMG and now my third 135i. This alone shows my appreciation to all brands out there but serious addiction the x35i marque

I think the important thing here for you Jerez is to not get over the fact of x35i vs ///M but to really get over yourself :thumbdo:

Marketing ones preference is like pushing the ideology that ones opinion is a fact :nonono:
