as far as i know the e36 does not have slots in the towers so there is no stock adjustment :(

there is a very easy way to increase front camber on the e36...

you need to use 12.9 grade bolts and dont worry about it stressing something people have been using this forever without any negitive effects

an idea of how much chamber you can get on a slightly lowered car...
1 shim gave 2.5 degrees
2 shims gave 3.5 degrees
3 shims gave 4.5 degrees

a good track setup for the e36 is:
Front
Camber: -3.5 deg
Toe: 0 (0.10-0.20 total toe out for autox)

Rear
Camber: -2.0 to -2.5 deg
Toe: 0.20 total toe in

im not sure how much camber you can put in before your wheel will touch the shock a street/track setup is:

Front
Camber: -2.5 deg
Toe: 0

Rear
Camber: -1.5 to -2 deg
Toe: 0.20 total toe in

this is cheap and easy and if you dont like it you can just change it back :)

Wish I had read this stuff before yesterday as I had the wheels all off when replacing the brakes :)

Will check it out sometime, Body is too stiff from yesterday to remove a wheel today as well as its raining

Did my camber on saturday and man what a difference. Cured a lot of the understeer I was experiencing. And I can now kick the tail out a lot easier when I want to (which is great for an auto).

Still need to get alignment done on the rear and my front toe zero-ed

Front is around -2.5 now. Need to align the back to -1.5.

Moranor,

Can you post pics of the the wheels from the front etc showing the camber adjustment you had done?

Also if I was to be getting wheel alignment, what would I tell them to do to, do I just say I want more negative camber front & rear?? How far can it be adjusted with standard suspension??

i have just maxed out the camber with the stock suspension you can only get about -0.4* but you can definitely feel the difference... im making the camber plates to get more...

to adjust the camber you need to knock out a pin (marked A in the pic) i just went in and told the guy i want to put the maximum camber i can on the front... if the guy does not know how show him...

so ; you can do this on a e 46 as well?

i wish you could do this to the e46 because then i would not have to go to the effort of making up camber plates :yuck: if you interested i can make some for you once i have tested the ones i make...

Oh... did not know it was such a process.. Wont be doing that as those little factory stud alignment pins show me that my car is still in Awesome condition :) Guess I will just have to live with the understeer

I wish I could.. But seeing as my dad owns the car, he wont approve this modification :(

Will stick to having my front tires @ 1.8 Bar & rears @ 2.5 as this seems to make the car handle a bit better
