CABIN FILTER : GOOD OR BAD IDEA ?

Guys, I have been having that nasty dust smell coming through the aircon vent whenever you switch it on.

So what I did was, I bought a new filter and applied the Comfort fabric softener with my finger lightly over the fins of the filter and let it dry, then installed it. Now when the aircon is on, it smells much better.

I want to know if this was a good idea or bad idea:idea:

Would I have compromised the filter by doing this?

Thanks guys:thumbs:

I don't know if this will help, but normally when my fresh air system has been running on low for a while I put it on high to sort of clear the pipes.

That is also maybe a tip you can try - give the system a full speed blast for about 10 minutes and adjusting it so that the flaps also move the air around in there to blow the dust out.

Let the fan run for a bit after you have used the aircon before switching off no nasty smell when you need to use your aircon again.

I wouldn't want chemicals not designed and tested for inhalation being pushed through the air circulation.
