Yes, I know, not the right forum for this, but I'm gonna ask anyway :mmm:
Been considering the E46 M3 for a while now, but just can't bring myself to drive a manual again ..... and there seems to be too many issues popping up with SMG's as they age. So anyway, I am considering something like a C55 AMG - however, my biggest concern is maintenance. I was always comfortable owning BMWs both in and out of MP (as there's so many decent okes that can work on them and parts are fairly easy to come by - even BMW stealers are not THAT badly priced sometimes).
However, the C55 is virgin ground for me. Are there many decent Merc tuners/workshops out there (like Tunetech, SAV,etc for BMW) that can maintain the C55 at reasonable prices. I'm not expecting it to be as cheap as a Tazz to maintain, but lets compare to a BMW E46 M3 or even a E46 6 cyl. Should I stay away .....
NB: My rule of thumb when buying a car out of MP, is to budget about 10% of the price for maintenance in the first year or two at least. As an example, I kept that aside for my X5 3.0d (for a auto gearbox prob or turbo issue, but "touch wood" have not used it yet).
