Hi guys

Well a little over two years ago , the cats on my cars exhaust manifold was found to be leaking , I replaced that with a manifold that does not have cats.

Then a year later the center cat was found to be blocked or loose inside or something of that sort , and I replaced it with a normal box from powerflow . So my car has no cats or but seems to have picked up mice as I get these errors .

Anyway , The guys after replacing these cats , fitted mini cats or so that's what they called it in place and attached the sensors to those smaller cats.

Its been a while now and when ever i search for error codes on INPA , these faults always come up . I have tried replacing the sensors , still after a bit the fault codes come up . replaced the mini cats and the same .

Is there a way to disable those sensors . Or what can I do about them ? I don't really feel any difference in the car but im sure those faulty sensors must be having some kind of adverse effect on the car that I cant feel or am aware of .

The cars a 2002 318i E46 N42 Automatic .

What are my options? I dont want to reprogram or anything of that sort . Can BMW switch them off?

Short answer. Yes you can, but afaik you will have to do software on the car to accomplish this. I have never been a fan of the mini cats, they are unreliable and feed incorrect info the the vehicle.

Where are you based?
