buzzing/humming from dash

so i am about to sign papers for 135i tomorrow, but before i did this , i went to check on the car today. i noticed that it had a electronic buzzing/humming sound coming from the dashboard , it did not change with rpm , it was there with the fan /aircon/ radio on and off .

has anyone had this issue or have any ideas as to what it could be.

i have driven other 135i which definetly did not have this noise .

any help , before i sign !

No clue about those cars but if you say the other one you drove never made this sound then you should definatley question it with the dealer! I would imagine a sound like that will drive you insane...get them to fix it before you sign... just my R0.02:thumbs:

yep thats what i told them this morning .... perfect or not at all !:thumbs: i dont want to sign and then drive in and out every 2 weeks casue they cant fix it .....like my current car



its sound like a fuel pump buzz. not saying it is but if you ever had a e30 , you know what i am talkng about .

My E36's air con made a noise, but that was very distinctive. I would definitely get them to sort it out, especially if it is from a dealer. Dealers in SA have been known to take chances.

U can say that again, ive had my 135i for almost 4 months now it's was in on Thursday for repairs 4 the 3rd time in the last month. When all the issues should have been sorted out by the dealer I bought the car from. Hope I don't have to take it back again. Very frustrating .

Does the noise go away if you switch the fan to 0? There is a very low hum from the dash with the fan on 1

There should not be a noise...get them to sort it out.

the noise is there with the fan on and off , i thjnk its a pump of some kind , maybe attached just on the otherside of the cokpit on the engine bay ....but we'll see, will keep u posted !

so it turned out to be an issue on the head unit , they swopped it out and voila , i now drive a 135i:joy:
