Hi Guys,
I have been an E90 person at some point, we then went along to have them as daily runabouts, I then had two X5s between 2010 and now. You see I drive a Fortuner as a demo vehicle for the products I sell, the wife's daily driver is a C350CDi 2010 ( which goes like a bat out of hell ) and the X5s served as a high speed inter-city aircraft on Sundays. You see, we live in Witbank, and yearn for the city come weekends. Long story short, the second X5 I bought was used, and it felt used, and rattled, has 50-odd on the clock, but my previous one I bought brand new in 2010, and just could not get used to the used one, which I then sold.

I came across a wholesale deal on an 05 645ci Coupe with 71000km in mint condition, so I bought it last week, what a beauty! i just could not get over the luxury and grace of this car.
I only had it a day and got a good offer for it so it was sold.
The wife almost had a stroke, so I was forced to look for another.

What I have found is:
2005 645ci Convertible A/T
61000km.
Plan was active until Feb this year.
Sapphire Black with Exclusive leather Pearl black and grey.
Dynamic Drive Package (Active steering, body roll stabilisation, 19" alloys ).
M-Sport seats for driver and front passenger
M-Sport steering wheel.
Universal Bluetooth interface.
Black Soft top.

Accident free. Roof works tip top. Mint.
I think I overpaid by 20 grand or so ( still made a wholesale offer ) so it is landing me at about 300k. I am buying it from a good BMW dealership.

Please give me any info on:
What's it like to live with?
Maintenance issues?
Consumption?
Servicing?
How hard is the ride with the 19s?
What is the exclusive leather/
Any other comments.
It my first car that I have bought to keep for at least a year or so WITHOUT plan. Should I be worried?

Here are pics of the car.

I looked at one of these for a long time and eventually bought a Mercedes c55 AMG which I LOVE !!!

I spent a lot of time researching the 645ci and determined that 95% of all problems that you may encounter can be traced back to the battery - current on this car is crucial. It needs to be kept fully charged at all times and a lot of issues develop when the car stands for long periods. I have heard about issues with dynamic drive and the active steering - the active steering, even when its working, is a nasty piece of work - making the car feel like a playstation game.

Nevertheless it is a beautiful thing to look at and the V8 is simply supurb - enjoy it mate

Ignore the 550i badge, was just a bit of fun.

The car is of course in superb condition, and we are looking for R330 000 but will go as low as R299 000 if you are keen.

Price includes a two day detail before delivery.

Don't know where you got your info around the active steering. I own a car with it and love it completely. You don't know until you have it. It is awesome engineering. I can't stand driving conventional cars now.

Anyway, if I were looking at a V8, I would rather go with the later technology 4.8L. Still a great car either way.
