Hi Guys, Stonehaven on Vaal is on the Vaal River in Vanderbijlpark.

Just over an hour's drive from Johannesburg.

http://www.stonehaven.co.za/

TBC is To Be Confirmed. I need to get a final idea on numbers so that we have a meeting point with enough parking space thats more or less central to all and not too far out of the route that we will use.

I've already got 25 confirmed entries from several forums/clubs and I only posted it up yesterday afternoon.

For those that don't know where Stonehaven is...

Put me down, probably 2- 3 cars. Which route will you take as I live 10 minutes from stonehaven. Will you come on the R59? then I can join at Meyerton/Vereeniging and at least have a little drive to the area.

Will be either R59 or R57.

If we take the R59 we can have a stop at the Engen 1-stop and Vaal people will be able to join us there...

I was at stone haven 2 weeks back. The last stretch between parys and the resort has some Shweet potholes, be careful.
Lovely place, beautiful setting and some  rafting

Hi guys, been working on a possible central meeting point and route this afternoon as I had a bit of spare time.

here goes:
Meeting point: Bruma Nissan. I will talk to management and see if we can use their parking space. There is a large, secure parking area at the dealership that can accommodate all of us.

There will be a 15 minute stop at the Engen 1-stop on the R59, this is to allow slower cars to catch up and also allow Vaal attendees to join us.

Here is the route:

15 minute catch up time? Are we inviting Audi Drivers as well?

Will see if any of the Xcede chaps are keen and available...

Pitzi, You shouldnt need to ask permission at Bruma Nissan, the parking lot outside there dealership has enough space for all and its Park Meadows property. I am sure they wouldnt mind.

Question: Stonehaven, can i bring my own braai stand and have a braai? You know, cos i only eat Halaal.

Last time around (2006) when I organized Bruma Nissan as a meeting point they arranged us a table with coffee etc. granted it was on a Saturday though.

I don't think Stonehaven allows braaing from what I saw 2 weekends back, I will find out what we can do to accommodate your needs.

Cool idea, 'Stonies' is an awesome spot. Pity I won't be around that time.

Walk in with your own braai just like that probably not, but if you give them a call I'm sure they would be able to accomodate one way or another. They let us have a bachelors there once even though policy is no bachelor parties, just had to ask nice.

Actually calling them in advance is a good idea anyway, let them reserve parking, place can get quite busy..
