This is looking brilliant guys!! I can't wait!!
For anyone interested,I am thinking of doing an early morning blast up to Langebaan and back on Sunday (yes I know it's Father's Day...so this is my Father's Day gift to myself!). Nothing serious, just there, quick bite, turn around and come home.

Sup B...wouldn't be able to join you unfortunately...got too much to do this weekend plus its gonna be another late evening at work tonight ...Have fun and take some pics....BTW picked up my GTI today, loving the instant turbo power...:joy:

No worries buddy, I only kinda decided today that I was gonna do it. I've heard the road up to Langebaan is quite a nice drive so going to be me and the machine. Open her up a bit :joy:
Kak having to work on a Friday, never mind working late on a Friday!
How's the power difference between the GTI and the 335?

Yip that's an awesome stretch of road, got my previous GTI to 270KM on that road...got the pic too......the power between the 2 cars is very different, the 335 is more linear and holds power longer but the GTI is instant and hard, very quick but power fades further up the rev range a bit but by then you already on 220 + so its very enjoyable...glad to have another GTI in the garage again...but the Beemer is still no.1..

I would join you, but we having breakfast with dad instead of lunch.

If you planning to open the beast up, this weekend is the wrong weekend to do it. There will definitely be a camera cos its the long weekend. Most weekends they are trapping

A quiet weekend out of season is perfect for opening her up. I drive up at speed limit to see if there's any cameras, have a quick bite, then come 230+ all the way back. Took 26mins

They have more cars than the museum can hold at a time, so they switch the cars on display every so many month - very keen to see what they have this time around!!

I hope they have the Merc DTM on display. There's only 2 of them in SA. Want Bugger to see it.

If you guys see any car that they have in their collection of 220+ on their website that isn't in the "on display" section, let me know and I will ask them to have them on display

I hope they have that 328 roadster there. That is probably my dream BMW that. Rare as hen's teeth! It was originally built to take on the Mille Miglia and other such races in the late 30's. It's just an awesome car.:praise:

I see on the website the 328 isn't on display at the moment. Will ask them to have it on display for us

On Father's Day and Mother's Day they bring all the cars out. They even take the fathers for a drive and start the cars up. Very cool.

Tomorrow the roads are gonna be busy cos everyone coming back from long weekend

If u wanna do a nearby short run now. I can take u to Contermanskloof. It's on opp side of the N7, between the refinery off ramp and the weigh bridge. Then we can drive to Tableview beachfront for a beer at either Doodles or Eden on the bay

The museum just got back to me with the menu (see below), and they want us to park between the 4 halls.

I've marked the parking spot on the map (below) with 2 red dots. I've asked them how long they want us to park there because we have a long route to do after the museum.

Got this from them now, we dont have to park in our dedicated space all day:

The duration of your parking depends on how long your visit will be to the museum.
Our website will be updated soonest, as we recently changed some of our cars in the last week – please note, our BMW 328 is currently on display.
I will put the request through to the Curatour of the museum – ensuring that the BMW 328 will be on show up until August 2013.

You and Steve (Clownshoe) must both bring the 635's.

Morgan, if you don't mind, I can drive your M . My flatmate can drive Carbon.
Steve, get your wife to drive either the Z3M or the M5
