Hi,

Hope you are well. I am in need t change my front disks for and e87 1 series, first model, 2009.

@gizmo advised me to get:

1. OEM disks
2. Textar pads
3. OEM sensors

Now who is the local agent for textar pads close to me and the disks are from which OEM? Are they bosch and can I go to bosch agent for disks or is it not worth the saving there?

Thanks a lot for your input. I stay in fourways jozi. Thanks for your help guys.

I have actually seen textar pads on takealot:rollsmile:

Quick question...is textar better than ate and feredo pads? I'm also due for a change soon ...also What are oem pads for the e90?

Textar is OEM on BMW. I recently changed my rear discs and pads and can confirm that the original ones which came off the car were Textar. (I've fitted OEM discs and Textar pads).

My front brakes are sitting on my garage shelf- will fit at year end most probably.

Contact Moranor on the forum, he got my pads at a decent price

+1 for Takealot, do a search. I tried to find for my E90, but they didnt have at the time.

For disks phone BMW JHB City Auto. They had a huge special on OEM disks a while back, you might be lucky.

Looks like there's no stock of Textar pads for some models and availability only in August ....

I also saw them but now it looks like they have disappeared again :cry:

When in doubt, Gizmo will sort you out.

Please just stay away from Bosch. That stuff is making both my Beemer and MB squeal like a half slaughtered pig.

I actually ordered a set from takealot a month back...after about 2 weeks they emailed me back saying there is no stock of the bmw brake pads...I tried calling around and seems to be the same story everywhere else (besides bmw, who want r1450 for a set of the rear pads)...anycase, happened to drive past an autozone yesterday so i went in...they confirmed theres no stock, but they said they will put an order through ...should arrive in 2-3 weeks...price is around 900 a set
