Brake pads? 320d E46: New Q added...

Did you replace the sensor? And if you did, did you make sure it was plugged in properly? Sometimes I have to switch the car on and off before the light on the dash goes off.

Okay, No was just checking, because they told me I did not have to do so when I went to buy all.

Where can I get the sensors? Just the rear one I need to replace, or should I do both?

You need to check if the sensor are worn through. If the sensor is worn through, you need to replace it. You will clearly see if the sensor needs replacement. You will see the copper contacts on the sensor if it needs replacement. If copper contacts are visible, replace it. That's the only way to get the light to go off.

Yes, you only need to replace it, if it's worn through.

I got quoted R330.00 by Sun Auto for Deselra brake pads for the rears... Upon doing my research on the pads, the only other info (except this forum) I could get is on here:

Just get ATE, you shouldnt skimp on brakes.

I just bought Deselra brake pads for my Alfa GT. Was going for EBC but the salesman recommended these as a great, very well priced alternative (they were out of stock of my brakes in the EBC range).
Apparently they're softer on the disks which is a good thing.

I've read up and there's a lot of good things to be said about them, but you'll see my feedback here on this forum when it comes time to do the wife's 320D (mid this year probably).

I Just replaced front and rear disc pads.

BMW OEM supplier is Textar, you can obtain them from Imcomex, reasonably priced as well. Be sure when you install to put the brake pad anti squeal grease on back of pads and caliper attachment points.

I replaced the front left, and right rear sensor with BMW OEM, I compared BMW with aftermarket from Midas, made in China rubbish.

They feel just like the originals.

ATE, Jurid and Textar are suppliers to BMW.
