Brake fluid change

So, the 130i is showing that it needs a brake fluid change.

Previously it was done at the dealer under motorplan. Now that I'm out of plan, I'm investigating options.

I've read a variety of posts, and some mention that you need to activate the ABS pump using the diagnostic software in order to bleed the old fluid out of it properly. Does anyone know if this is true for BMW as well?

I also read some stories where apparently they only suck out what they can out of the reservoir, and then top it up with clean fluid, lol.

Thoughts?

Not sure about the ABS pump, but what I did is turned the new brake fluid bottle upside down and it into reservoir and then just bleed the brakes individually by only jacking up the wheel that I was working on and flushed out the fluid with the new fluid on each wheel.

And don't get it near your paint and if you do, wash it away with lots of water asap!

Check this video it will help.

This is the correct process, I had this done at Ross Duncan

Just get one of those pressurized bleeders and flush the fluid until it is clear at the caliper. Easy as that.
