brake dust help

Good morning guys, does anyone know what I can use to keep the brake dust from building on the rims besides washing them.

I mean just after being washed, you have a small drive and the rims are dirty

some solutions would be good, I was told once by my dad to use MR Min

Wash well & apply rim wax

Not to hijack the thread: what takes the brake dust marks off? Green clean works to a degree

Try some Prepsol

If you wash your wheels weekly you wont have a buildup. A dedicated wheel wax is probably marginally better then normal wax, but I have not found much of a difference. Use normal wax if you have. If the wheels are too far gone to just wash the dust off, then use an acid free wheel cleaner like Sonax Full Effect. Can get at Builders warehouse for about R70.

Actually also heard about the Mr Min trip - anti-static and a water barrier. Even heard that some people use spray and cook on the front end (bumper/bonnet) to reduce chances of stone chip damage... Not sure about that, but will try the Mr Min or other suitable product...

Imagine the dust pick-up after you used spray and cook. I think someone is trying to pull one over on you.

I removed all my wheels, and properly cleaned them and applied Collinite 915, which is a very durable wax. This was in August, and now it is so much easier to clean them.
