So its starting to get cold in the mornings and my car is struggling to start so time for some new Glow Plugs.

So wanted the Bosch GLP070, but i cant find anywhere that sells them except for online. I tried the Midas in Fourways and the AutoZone in Midrand.

Anyone know where i can get a set of 4 from?

Thanks

lol, the dealership is the last place i will try. I rather buy online and wait a month than get ripped off by dealership prices. Plus the dealership keeps Beru plugs which is whats originally in the car.

Will try and give Diesel Electric a call, anyone has their number before i start googling?

dont have a number sorry :(

the dealer is cheaper on alot of normal service items like plugs and filters... its well worth getting a price...

hang on, what car is this?

Did you do a diagnostic and get errors on the glow plugs? If not, I fear your problem might be elsewhere. On many of the BMW's the glow plugs do not help with cold starting much until the temperature reaches -10C...

E46 320d, i tried to do diagonistics.

Got my cable, but INPA decides it doesnt want to list any cars in the menu, so all it tells me is battery and ignition.

So until i find a working install i cant do diagnostic's. But before i buy the plugs i was going to do the multimeter test and check if its the glow plugs.

But on cold start it does struggle to idle until it warms up a little.

Fixing things slowly one at a time :)

agree with p1000.. my car has four dead glowplugs atm, as reported by inpa, and it never starts hard when cold.. temps must be at least -5c before they even activate..

a diesel struggling to start when cold can be many things..

Got INPA to work finally, 3 Glow plugs do return errors. But the more major fault is the Fuel Pressure Regulator. From looking online alot of starting problems have to deal with the fuel Pressure.

Called BMW they only have 1 replacement part for R 3500, so found the replacement part number for the bosch part 0281002481.

Is there anywhere else except for Diesel Electric that keeps Bosch parts? They arent open on the weekend so have to wait for monday :(

Midas and Autozone even though they are good parts stores really do look at me like I'm nuts if I dare ask for anything "strange" like an O2 sensor or glow plug or something.

I wish they would just start keeping this stuff like the American parts stores do.
