Hi all,

I noticed my front Bmw badge got a little chip on the enamel and i want to replace the 323i at the boot to just a ///M. How can i safely take out both badges? Is it more a diy job or go to dealer? Cover under motor plan?

Thanks

HI there.
For the bonnet badge:
Cloth, and credit card - old one.
Cloth is to not scratch the paint, and use the credit card to slot under the badge and pull it up.
Make sure to work it from all sides.

For the 323i:
Floss or fishgut.
Just run it from behind the numbers, and work it from side to side in a saw motion. It should get the numbers right off.
To clean off the glue or any residue, use Benzine and a cloth.

Then simply get your new badges and stick them. :thumb:

Why would you want to replace your 323i badge with an ///M badge? :thumbdo:

You drive a 323i, not an ///M.

I think it is one of the dumbest things people do to there car and looks s*@t.
:argh:

@ Michael:
To each his own. Take my car for instance... I have all my badges removed, and stripes over my car. Not to everyones taste, but I love how my car looks.

If he wants to debadge his car, and fit an M-badge, then let him do it. He wont be the first guy, and he for sure wont by the last guy to do it. :dunno:

I know he will do it anyway, no matter what i say. Difference with that and what you did to your car is, your not making it into something its not.

But anyway, everyone to their own.

I have a ///M pack on me car. :D got ///M on the steering wheel and ///M on door grill. So thought put a ///M before the 323 is too long. Not like I'm gonna leave ///M with just the 3 there. That would be tit... I like the uniformity.

Here is my baby. I feel that your critism on the basis of me being pretentious is unjustified as I did buy a M pack and an exclusive pack. Just a simple ///M badge at the back just to reiterate my love of the brand based on what I indeed have. If I have a 316i and I put ///M3 all over it then I think your argument have a leg to stand on.

@coisman I might put extra two 'ii' so it reads ///M iii. Different kind of M3 logo ;)

OI...!!!

...and here I was taking your side... :flyfun:

I know!!
Get yourself a "d" badge, and a "0"
Then you take one of the "3"s, invert it, so it looks like a "E"
Then take the "i" chop off the dot on top, and turn it sideways, so it looks like a "-"
Then take the "d" and flip it back side to front, and mount it as a "9"
Then ad the "0"
And finally the "M" behind that.

Now you have a custom badging reading: "E-90M" at the back!!

the badge on the rear is usually an indication of what's under the bonnet, otherwise BMW would have put them on from the factory.

To each his own I guess.

I like the looks of your car!

I found that thin fishgut work well on removing the badges and the numbers...just take your time with it.

Yip, thats what I used on my ride as well, but I hear floss also works really well, and it leaves your hands smelling minty fresh and cavity free!!

The ///M, yes represents what's under the bonnet. How about debadging and leaving it "clean"?
Well each to their own!

I also prefer the clean look, I'm very tempted to debadge my car - just don't want trying to race me thinking it's a 330i :fencelook:
