Very sad indeed.. Must have been a rough impact. My heart goes out to those involved. Don't know how the passenger even survived that. :blueCry:

I have seen some rough accidents before (even happening while I was nearby) and to be truthful things happen quickly regardless of speeds, yes speed is a factor but ultimately you never know what's around the next corner.

This is what happens to a car travelling at 120km/h and crashes.

Are you still so sure he was driving excessively fast? Have you ever driven 120km/h in an 80km/h zone? Are you aware of any evasive action he might have taken? Were you there? I pass lots of people everyday in my car, some travel at 40km/h. To them I am driving very fast - I suppose you would have no sympathy for me if I crashed and burned? Do you know these cars are made to crumple on impact?

Sorry I disagree with you condemning the young life lost just by reading one comment and looking at 1 picture. The end.

:skit: dammit...at 120 and thats not speeding if u consider it.

RIP fella - he was naughty if he was speeding but a life was lost unnecessarily. I believe we have all taken silly risks sometime in our life

If you read the comments on News24, you will notice a Mr.Imgard Krugmann comment that he was a witness to the accident and that the driver was speeding excessively.

"Mystery" solved.

You must certainly be content that your comment is justified.

I for one am terribly sorry for the pain that his loved ones will live with.

Pity how some segments of our community lack a sense of what is appropriate.

Dude, these are all "what if"s.

If you caused your own accident then, no I would not. Why am I being harassed for this view? Do you feel sympathy for a person who dies of lung cancer after years of smoking? Do you feel sympathy for a person who ignores warning signs and opens their car window in a wild animal enclosure?

Well that and masses of statistics involving young men and fast cars. Also, where exactly did I condemn someone?

Is it any less or more justified than all the meaningless sympathy of strangers, for what, by all probability, was an act of titanic irresponsibility?

As am I.

You are right. A comment grounded in available information is completely inappropriate, but young men killing themselves and injuring others should be forgiven immediately.
I think u have made ur viewpoints and feelings explicitly clear. So how about giving it a rest now:smashScreen:

"News24 the source of all the truth in this world ...even the biased unproven facts can lead those with a lack of critical analysis to believe news24 to be the grail of all thing right in this world ...."

The reality is :
A life was lost and all of assumptions are made by people who were not there.

So, Vuk being a sanctimonious person in this situation with no hard facts, is merely aggravating the discussion.

I doubt that Vuk has been in an accident of such magnitude before., lest with an M car, assuming he has driven one or even owned one before...

This is what happened to me while doing 80km/h while following all rules of the road, and this is why they're called accidents - simply because one cannot predict the circumstances surrounding them - they just happen. I'm very lucky, and thankful to be alive in this case, it could've gone very bad for me too.

So I do sympathise with the family of the young man that lost his life - it's nothing to be so nonchalant and gung ho about. I suggest that before commenting with such an icy outlook on the situation, you should experience something like this to open your view and thinking....

I could be mistaken, I think that ford focus was travelling at 120mph (+/- 200kmh).

Think it was a fifth gear test.

quite sobering...

Jeepers, I really am having a bad run with Posts. I would never have posted the details and link if I thought it would start a debate as to what happened and whether or not the young man deserves our sympathy.

None of us here are Judge or Jury, that privilege belongs to higher power, be you Jewish, Christian, Muslim etc. Part of being human is the ability to feel compassion and sorrow for others.

I simply wanted the post to remind us all of the dangers of driving such amazing cars and to spare a moment for a host of families who are now in turmoil.

Hi
I've actually been sitting here reading the comments on this accident and unfortunately Vukmiler , I'm sorry to say but your comments has no justification
Had you given your condolences as what everyone else has done & started a new thread to voice your opinion you would have had most of us on your side
firstly ,my condolences to the family
secondly , we don't no the facts & you can't believe everything in the news
yes speed was a factor , experience is another
How about, was he being chased by would be hijackers, was he run off the road , was he rushing to an emergency
we don't know the circumstances, er24 discovered the wreck on their way to another call out ,why didn't the so called witnesses call them according to this article
A life was lost Fact
your time is your time irrespective of how good a driver you are even if this happened on the track it was his time

thanks:blowheart:
just my thoughts

Religious babble aside, the dangers are not associated with the amazing cars, but irresponsible driving.

I don't think anyone disputes the sympathy for the families of the affected. They, as well as the passenger, are all victims of one man's irresponsible, reckless actions which have resulted in this tragedy.

Clearly you saw what happened, I hope you have given the police your eye witness account.... Only someone who has all the facts would dare be so judgemental.

Sarcasm is really not constructive.

As Vuk has posted, at least two people were witnesses, and indicated that the "accident" was caused by speeding and subsequent loss of control.

Im surprised the media did not label this a "street racing" accident...

That aside also think this thread took a bit of a detour and differences in opinion will not be resolved here...just agree to disagree already and move

I don't think the sources quoted with the supposed witnesses were credible at all...

Everyone has an opinion on this stuff, whether the guy was speeding or not, we probably won't know, the same with if he was being reckless or not.

I find that the argument being put forward here isn't up to scratch either. People can be reckless and negligent at 20km/h and and still cause harm and death in some instances.

The point is that this has happened, a life has been lost, another hangs in the balance. Exploring 'what-if' scenarios and throwing around blame does not help at all.

gents @yaasien has summed it up quiet nicely.

Regardless of what happened a life was lost. We do not know the circumstances around the incident for us to judge.

Lets respect a fellow BMW Fanatics life and give him the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise.

I do not think closing this thread is needed. We are adults here and treat each other with respect. As much as we all have our own opinions, do so in a respected manner.
