BMW X5 3.0D (2007)

Greetings to all forum members.

My X5 is out of Motorplan, and after the last service, I paid for at the dealership, it thought I'd try and have it done a bit cheaper. A mate suggested a guy in Hillcrest, who quoted 7k to do the service and brakes, and even though my initial mail asked as to whether he has the diagnostic tools to reset all the service indicators and brake service indicators, I still got my car back with all the lights glowing. Apparently, these indicators can only be reset by an agent, which I can see costing another small fortune.

Hopefully, there's a fanatic member out there that can give me an idea as to whether this is in fact true, or another option?

The brake wear indicators will reset after around 50km after replacing the pads and wear sensors

The service indicator you can reset via the instrument cluster buttons ... Google for instructions

My brake waer sensors did reset after 45second. I just turn the icnition to number 2 position opened my driver side door for about 45 second make it 1 minute the brake warning and light wil go of or it wil go of if you switch your icnition off and then when we switch it o again the message wil be clear. If its not clear then one or both the sensor needs to be replaced. CHECK YOUR AIR FILTER VERY VERY IMPORTAND. ive read some horror stories about that. Reseting service light.did not try yet so dono. But i service my bm self. Did not need to reset because it was reset when turbo new turbo was fittet. Just wanted to chande oil and oil filter
