Another Update:

Not trying to spam this thread, just thought everyone would be interested in further updates.

I phoned ABM and Menyln Auto's part departments to get pricing again. I am still waiting for ABM's email to come through but I got the one from Menyln Auto.

What the absolute freaky deaky utter shiz!

Same part numbers, very different price!

As my post prior, when I brought up the price difference with the service advisor about what I had received telephonically prior and the price she gave me, she had the audacity to tell me I was mistaken!

Since i have purchased the pulley and bolts already and mine has not failed, are the deflection pulley, v belt and tensioner compulsory to change? What is the recommendation?

Hey Sash,

The parts guy I spoke to says that they normally replace everything together at the dealership.

I think maybe the parts have similar lifespans and its more a preventative maintenance step?

When I had the dampner replacced on my car they also did the V-belt and tensioner. So I suppose it goes hand in hand.

I've left the Tensioner, deflection pulley and V belt to be changed at the next warranty claim, as the max benefit I have is R4k per claim on these items. The next claim should have all parts + labour fit into that cap.

My tensioner is making a metallic clicking noise, which is exacerbated when the aircon is turned on, ie load is placed on the system..
