My point still is that BMW is cheapening the the M name and what it stands for, if I bought an e46 M3 there would be no other 3 series that would be able to come close unless it had some serious work done, its the same with the e36 M3 and the e30 M3 (also true for M5's), they were cars that we unmatched, but nowadays the M in general is just seems like something that was made to be a bit better, almost like they worked up to a point and then decided "that'll do" and this is not what M is about. But BMW has to pander to the customers and sell more stuff with M's just for the reason so that people can say they drive and M. The new 1 series M-coupe is a perfect example of this, it is basically just a 135i in a bodykit and a software reflash with performance that should be easily attainable by any good place that does software.

This is of course just my views and BMW M this is also not meant as an attack against you or your car, which you say it is awesome and I believe you, as BMW's are.

No offence taken Sankekur.

I think what needs to happen is that BMW should have M-stages like AMG for instance. Like MI would be cosmetics only, MII would be cosmetic and some engine/suspension upgrades and then the M with the series number like M3; M5; M6 etc should be the thoroughbred M...

I have the biggest repect for M3's and M5's, they are in a league of their own, also in a price range of their own... That I think is why BMW are manufacturing the more 'affordable' 'M's'. It still makes you stand out from the crowd. And if another e90 pulls up next to you and the guy wants to go... you know you can. :excited: Or a ST for that matter... ever seen a 4 cyl oilburner kick a 5 cyl turbo petrol's ass...

I still think the M stickers in the car stand for different things totally, like the E36 came in M3 and Motorsport form, two different forms that had similiar styling points. I think of my car as a Motorsport not a M3.

That is a very good idea having different designations for certain types of upgrades so the the M can be kept for the :excited::dropjaw::drool:

lol...my eyes hurt now...no more new 1er pics please. Apparently, BMW wont be going FWD with the 1er...instead they will introduce it on the megacity which is some sort of small hybrid green car soo to come.
