Gona give BMW a call and ask if they know about this issue and ask what they can do to help, cause if it was my girlfriend driving the car pretty sure she would have lost control :nonono::nonono:

There must be some explanation for this?

I am sure BMW will give you a cold shoulder, the previous X3's had many problems with the back tilt linkages of the double roof, mine were 3000 out of plan and I was on my own.

You dont perhaps have a tint on the sunroof do you?

Very interesting. Wonder why the tint would cause that. Would the tint not also help to keep the glass from shattering into a million pieces and falling unto the occupants?

Update: so yesterday i went BMW fountains in pta and they told me that to replace the sunroof would cost me R7800 :nonono: and all the other dealers i called we asking round about the same price...

So considering that the second hand option was cheap and it came as complete sunroof not just the glass as that bmw was gona give me i went and bought the second hand.

It was in a very good condition more that what i was expecting, and replacing the glass only took about 45 minutes of my time, with most of the time spent cleaning the the broken glass off the rails.

This happened to My wife while driving my 2008 E90
The car was still under Mp
Lucky she had the sunroof cover closed from the inside.

Bmw told me someone dropped a rock on it.
I asked them if they think it came from the moon.
The whole sun roof was shattered and no way of them even checking that a object fell on it.

Ended up going through my insurance, cost at the time was R9700 Bmw Isando.
