I collected my spare wheel kit from bmw today. I am impressed with the quality of the package as a whole.
Spare wheel with tyre (space saver 125/80/17)
jack with rachet handle
wheel spanner
wheel chock for opposite side
gloves
laydown sheet
all in a transport bag with tie downs and clips for the boot.

Now i need to put some serious thought into which tyres to use as i dont need runflats anymore.
Any suggestions?

That's not a bad price from the agents! Please post some pics of this kit, in particular the bag! Mine has the older carry bag which does not have the tie-downs, so it is just sitting in the boot and able to move around, which I DOES not like!! Bought some strong webbing strap which I want to try and use to make some sort of tie-down that can secure it in the boot. BMW quoted me R800 for this newer tie-down type bag!! :nonono:

i will post on the weekend if thats ok.

No rush! Many thanks!

Michelin Pilot Sport 2, Goodyear F1 Assy2, Hankook Ventus V12, but basically you have lots of good options for non-RFT's!

I'm considering getting a spare tyre kit as well. I'm currently using 19inch rims, would they have a 19inch kit for a 1 series?

Normal 17" space-saver will work, doesn't have to be the same size as your regular wheels since it is a space-saver in the first place, as long as it clears the brake callipers then it's fine. You are going to have to limp the car in any case - the overall tyre diameter is the same as normal size tyres, so that's not a problem either...

tyre circumference is important..If you can't find a 19" spare (I not sure but don't think they make them)..a 17" or 18" spare should fit as long as the offset, circumference match and they clear the brakes...pm magsman ..he does sell them..check this thread http://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/showthread.php?tid=31539&page=2

Thanks, will pm him. Regarding the offset though, the 135i has different offsets for front and rear, wouldn't that be an issue?

Offset not really an issue since it is only a 125 width tyre and will fit just within the wheel well, so still maintain a decent track width.
