BMW SA and Lyndhurst Auto do not care about their customers

Neeeeeee Mannnnn!!!!! wat maak die mense? I must agree with the comments about the CPA, I also bought a car from Barons, had some issues on which they thought they could play me on, not knowing that pappa here has been screwed a few times already and actually went and did some homework, I pulled the CPA card and my car was sorted Sharp Shoot, courtesy car and all the rest, and I called them a couple of times after that and they were at my door promptly each time with courtesy cars. Infact they somma asked me where it would be convenient to meet me, at work or at home. I fortunately simply for the sake of effort didn't even have to go CPA, I just threatened and told them that I know my rites, EN KEN JY VAN DIE NUWE CPA BESIGUITES? Jah toe spring hulle... I hope it can work for you, but as the brothers are suggesting don't waste any time with the monkeys who spin stories.... BRAND HULLE with the big PAPPAS. Good luck man

Conclusion - BMW can't fix an e90, so there is hope for the F30
No, BMW are making disposable cars out of inferior materials these days so its only going to get worse... :thumbdo:
Gone are the days of well built BMWs...

Just on this note i had a thread a few onths ago on Merc's good customer service

BUT

it has now been 6 months (April 2012) that my dad has sent his car back for the 5th time. He has spent between R15 000 - R20 000 on the car to be fixed. After the check engine light still came on they told him they had a meeting with their experts from Germany and they think now that its the Diesel. They have sent it in for analysis as well. Looks like its a common excuse if you can't fix the car.

:fencelook:
Now I now why I did not buy a diesel

You guys wanna experience real customer service?

Call your local KIA Dealer, book a test drive and bow at their superiority. Within an hour of the test drive I was called by KIA SA, asking what I liked about the car, the sales lady abd if they could improve.

Furthermore, the in dealer service was superb.

While the big companies screw up the underdogs will continue to rise.

sorry to hear about this BS ... BMW AG must take more steps to ensure that local ZA dealers are up to their brand standards, because currently most dealers around are only worthy of selling Tata's.

Have you tried hellopeter, this seems to be quite effective these days. Good luck, I hope you nail them and get the better deal.

Two things, if the vehicle started off the battery, it has enough amp's in it, meaning that your cutout is not battery related, unless there is something wrong with the charging system.

This ^^^

Had it been me, it would have been enough to convince me that these people don't know what they talking about...

To add, the OP paid 293k for the car & they still had a nerve to offer a trade in of 245k :nonono: thats almost a 50k knock in a space of 5 months !!!

I always wonder about posts like this when someone joins for the implicit reason of posting their side of the story.

Thank you all for listioning and for your support!

I had a meeting with Ewan (DP) and Grant (Sales manager), the results from the diesel sample sent to Castrol for testing had met the required standards to pass for low sulphur Diesel.

The above is in direct contradiction to the findings of Darren Nathan (BMW SA Technical Expert) and Chris Germishuizen (After Sales Manager of Lyndhurst Auto), who firmly pointed out that the diesel looked suspicious, discoloured, containing a high volume of paraffin and some water. Their diagnosis from their expertise was that the diesel would not nearly meet the standard required and was causing my vehicle to display the engine light and cut the power.

I have accepted Ewan's offer to purchase my vehicle at the settlement amount, lossing the amounts that I have paid in already.

This is a very painful experience as I am torn from a brand that I love!
