They'll probably also give some "innocent" reason even though the bonnet doesn't close. :roflol::biglol::roflol:

Bugger said:Look, those guys at Velocity in Cape Town are known to be a bit dodgy. I've dealt with them before. When I bought my M6 a few years ago I actually went there to look at an E64 M6, which had been on their floor for ages. It was "sold" the day I went to go check it, and was back on their floor within 10 days.
I was told that apparently the car had been in a major shunt somewhere along the line, and hadn't been disclosed when it was sold to the new owner. They tried to convince me to buy it but I'd already gotten my E63 by that stage.
They're the type of dealership where they sell to unlicensed buyers....actually says so on their showroom window.

dvst8 said:So, BMW generally dont "cancel" MP. Usually cancelled when a car is written off.
They do however suspend MP. They will suspend whenever flagged parts are bought on the VIN, any modifications found or the vehicle does not pass inspection.
When the MP is suspended, a comment is logged on the VIN. You can correct and have the car inspected again and if it passes, the MP is reinstated. There is a cost of between 1500-3000 depending on dealer. Note, the MP is suspended even when repairing at an ARC.
So, if it was SW or PnP, plan could have been reinstated but it will have a comment. Some claims may still be refuted.
Also, the car does not have to be repaired by an ARC to have the plan reinstated. Ive had 2 BMW's repaired by a non ARC, plan suspended on ordering parts, car inpected and MP reinstated.
So, the car in question if wasnt written off, could have MP reinstated but that would entail correctly repairing and inspection.
But, if it was water damage, may not be possible as in most cases water damage is written off.

Well Porsche will void your plan if you take your GT3 rs on a track... That's a track car... How is that for logic.

That's not quite true. Porsche SA will allow track driving on all cars covered by their drive plan, provided that the event is not timed (i.e. not competitive). This in my opinion is on, as competition racing is another cuppa altogether.
Here's one event (recent) where it was clearly stated that MP (Drive Plan) cars are allowed.

Cosmetic mods even in the engine bay were fine. Happily 'allowed' me to fit aftermarket adjustable suspension (of course no plan on suspension components after that). They even fitted my aftermarket exhaust, gauge senders etc. with no complaints and in some cases free if for example the oil filter was being changed anyway and they just had to pop an adapter in between. I drove the car into Honda Melrose looking like it came straight from the track several times and wasn't read the riot act and neither did I have to wait for a 'contact' to work on the car (Semis, Endless pads, stickers etc).

Has anyone had their MP cancelled due to having a JB and did BMW pick it up afterwards? Would be interesting and helpful if anyone knows ....
