Naked insurance who use the1st group i think for the roadside assitance has been absolutley spectacular the 3 times we have used them in 2 years. Roll back was on site at most 30 mins after the call and they had proper equipment and took great care to not damage anything. Photos of every panel was even taken before and after towing.

Seems like bmw customer care also agree that the sticks and random block of rubber were appropriate.

Update on the car, had it towed to bmw Midrand at my own cost.

So apparently the coolant tank and a line leading it to it had a split, find it strange it was both.

Was sorted pretty quickly and apparently I have the new tank now which the manager told me is the new revised spec which should last longer.

Ardendorff sell solid rubber blocks/bricks that only cost a few hundred bucks.... You should get a pair and keep them in your car... They have multiple uses... You could use them to elevate the car to get a Normal jack underneath if you drive onto them (or help you load a car onto a flatbed) etc, use as a wheel chock etc

I love it, the same bunch of people who always go "wasn't us who did that" will accept liability for damages.

I got so angry reading all this. I really can't believe BMW sometimes. My dad worked at the factory when I was a kid and he said to me countless times that I should avoid taking my car to BMW service and now oncall once motor plan and service plan is out because these are the things they will make you pay for if they get damaged. The amount of times cars would get returned to factory after a tow truck drive went right through the sump or damaged undercarriage because of stupid things like this. (I may be exaggerating his feedback but its how I feel)

Honestly not acceptable for a brand like bmw to be allowing this.

A bmw on call manager has apparently muttered they might pay for my tow. Few weeks later I’m still waiting for it to materialize.
