review BMW on call

So this is how bmw on call sends a truck to tow my vehicle to the nearest dealership.

I already removed the m performance front splitter to help loading it.

Spent 5 hours yesterday at the border, first truck had zero ramps and was foraging the fields near by for timber.

Today this is how they want to load the vehicle.

I kindly refused.

Am I being unfair to say this is not acceptable?

James the manager at bmw on call says I’m not qualified to determine if it’s appropriate or not.

BMW On-call outsources to the towing companies in the area. "Our client is not driving an M5 Comp, so pick him up in your shittiest roll-back"

I can only laugh after two days of dealing with these twats. Going to have to pay for a tow myself with a professional company.

BMW on calls opinion is if you not happy to with our pathetic attempt to collect your vehicle you must handle it yourself.

100% that 'BMW on call manager' is a call centre manager (at best).

On another note, I have always had AA (and still do) because they are able to assist with professional towing more quickly than ANY OTHER kind of service in my experience. I am guessing this doesn't help in eSwatini but in SA it has given my wife and I plenty of peace of mind. It is also linked to YOU and not the car, so I can have a break down in my mate's car with him and still get a tow. It is a plus that the AA depot is also within a few km of my house if there are issues at home as well.

I have the option of BMW on call, AA and the roulette wheel of my insurance company and always end up using AA. They also always show up in an ACTUAL AA vehicle - not some random half-falling-apart POS that was the quickest to respond to their call centre. AA also works for and answers to ME and not the insurance company, random panel/workshops that your car may end up at without your permission (happened with my wife's merc crash) and not for BMW who wants to pay the bare minimum possible.

BMW on call really needs to up their game if this is the level of service.

Thanks I actually might go with the AA option, as was literally just thinking I’m in SA allot with the m5, little concerning having a breakdown bmw on call being my only option.

Have used bmw on call in Midrand a few times for my x6, service has been pretty good. Guessing it’s area dependent.

I asked the manager if the timber breaks or damages my vehicle in anyway will bmw on call make right of the vehicle. His response was the tow truck company would have to be pursued for any damages. Meaning I’d have a nightmare on my hands. Hence the decision not to load it.

Someone should link BMW customer care to this thread. None of the cars that have active on-call plans are monopoly money value/cost wise and this is absolutely abysmal. The person has the spelling, reasoning and communication skills of an 8 year old (I hesitate to even say this since my daughter is 8 and could probably do a better job).

The audacity of a MF, who can barely string together a coherent sentence, telling you that you're not qualified to make a common sense call.

Absolutely wild.

Did you call using the mobile-care option in the car or did you make a call from your phone? How long did they take to answer?

I did inform him I’m educated enough to know seeing as I own a construction company, that is a fencing post and has no load rating nor place being used to load vehicles.

I’d like to thank this matter up with bmw SA somehow as surely this can’t be acceptable. Second time in a year the coolant tank is faulty and now they can’t even organize a tow truck for me.

I called from the phone.

Took them about 10 minutes to answer, spent 5 hours at the border yesterday of the messing me around, truck late then waiting for a plan b.

Service was pretty horrific though, after an hour of notifying them yesterday the driver said they brought a truck that could not load my vehicle. They said they would call back within 10 minutes, an hour later I called them to speak to the manager James who organized today’s shit show.

Maybe I was being unfair, I’m sure the random single piece of rubber block would have loaded my car.

I’m curious how they planned on stopping the timber poles from moving when I was loading the car.
