BMW M7 - maybe

BMW M7 may possibly be in the pipeline or this may just be a pipe dream. I would assume that BMW wants to have big sports saloon that will compete with the likes of Merc's S63.

Read article below;

According to BMW SA, they told me at the 7 series launch that an M would be coming, but it would be like a m235i in that it's got some M bits but not a true M car. Now obviously take that with a MASSIVE pinch of salt as the local okes know very little about what is actually going on...

I hope that this is just the media grasping at straws.

The ///M brand is getting watered down already.

Very true - most car salesmen know no more than what the brochure teaches them by the way M2 and 1M are also not true M cars they don't have M engines :tease:

I don't see the need for a M7, but hell they way these okes have been operating you might just have an M7 GT frozen edition - Msport Nurburgring package with purple "accents".

For interest, the new 760iL 0-100 3.7 SEC. That is mind numbing for a car that size. Not a true M7 but I think they refer to is a sport/M edition.

That is pretty quick for massive a machine.

It will probably be an M760i, which is coming out soon or has already come out. ///M badges and sport rims will be the highlight, but still the same engine.

That is probably just the 760iL with a 2.0L 4cyl engine and 6 turbos:bin:

:roflol: I wouldn't put it past BMW

In the article the blogger talks about the specs of the M760Li, saying that the M7 would have to kick out even more power etc. I can't see well enough from the pics to determine if it's a M7 render or if its actually just old pics of the M760Li.

Either way, I'd still prefer the M760Li over the M7 if I could afford either, purely for the extra comfort and rear axle steering which I would assume would not make it onto the M7 for obvious reasons.
