If its not on motorplan....get a manual!

Had both.. Not even a comparison, DCT all the way! Manual is 2002 technology now, time moved on and DCT is the way. Sad but true!

1. An M3 is not a daily car. There's a ritual involved in starting the car, driving gently till it warms up and then bliss when you are 'safe' to go balls to the wall. If driving it daily, the fun kinda disappears.
2. An M3 is special, it should only be driven on weekends and it must be enjoyed for what it is. If you want an easy drive, get an F10

That is possible the biggest load of crap I have read on this forum in a while.
Mine is my daily drive, and its a manual, and the fun has never disappeared .

Heh, I'm surprised that you'd consider my reasoning to be 'the biggest load of crap' you've read on the forum. I'm pretty sure there's more crappy posts than mine, but then that might just be my opinion.

One thing, though, you seem to lack tact. Disagree, by all means, but I don't care for your tone.

Had both - Manual any day if you really want to drive the car... you can do things with it that you'll never ever experience in an auto.

Technically the DCT box is a manual, the car redlines in S mode like a manual would, the box is also very mechanical.

I am not saying manual is bad but when I made the change to DCT, I never missed the manual.

......Maintenance can only be extended while in MP, up to 7 years (two yearly extensions) at a cost of about 11k per year. You can extend either km or years.

Sorry but this figure is completely wrong! A 335i costs already 18,000.00 Rand for one year with 25.000km, which was the lowest mileage for one year! For an M3 it is MUCH more! I asked for the extension of one with low mileage (55.000km), BMW gave me an offer for 58,000.00 Rand for one year and also 25,000km...

I better sign up for my quote then, I got that figure from Alberante.
