MAX this Stang is not like the ones of years gone by..i have no doubt the m will take it around the track but I'm sure it will be pretty decent in the handling department.

I had a very decent look at the Mustang at the New York Auto Show last year and the fit and finish isnt worth R800k in my opinion. This car is amazing value for money in the US but with the current exchange rate its way overpriced. If you can, maybe wait and go drive both before you decide. Especially if you care about fit and finish.

ya i watched a video about a guy complaining about the fit and finish, was the only one though. I wish seeing and driving the cars were possible but these cars are so scarce the only way im gonna see one is if i order one lol.
Phoned ford cape town to verify what my local dealer was saying and they said i might get one sooner than 5 months or could be later, i need to order and pay 10 000 refundable deposit.
checked bmw and they also no 100% sure, they say latest end of the year

So i need to put my name down now

Ultimately a very nice problem to have :roflol::roflol:

All of the best with the decision, either way you go, will be an epic car.

Both beautiful cars!!!!

Its one thing getting the stang....what about maintaining it....I wouldn't trust a car like that at a local Ford dealer...hell NO...

BMW might not be as exclusive but atleast if there is any sh!t...u got a solid motorplan...

just my 2cents

Quite amazing result, Of all the people that replied and actually gave there choice between the 2 cars, not one person has chosen the bmw m2.

The Mustang has the greater appeal as it is "new" to the market I suppose. Not that the M2 isn't new ... err... you know what I mean.

If you had to choose between the 2 then the M2 would be my conservative choice as you are guaranteed to have great handling, performance, backup service and many more performance and aesthetic options available locally than you would have with the Ford.

I do love the Mustang though .... except for the tail lights :thumbdo:

A mention of servicing etc.... would not rate BMW these days judging by the number of members that have complaints about dealers. I know folk with Fords and they seem to get could service - albeit they generally have Rangers and Fiesta's.....
Aston's etc would be a few years old at R800k so that would be iliminated as the gent wants a new car or less than a year old if I read right. All cars are cheap...ish in the USA even M's so its a bit irrevelent when comparing them to here as we just get rodgerred properly on car prices in good ole SA

Drive the cars first. I have bought cars based on what "they" said and was disappointed with how the car made me feel; my experience of the car. You will get most of your money back with either if it is a short term itch. At the coast, NA is the way to go!

I went to go see a ford mustang today very impressive, although there are a few things that remind you its still a ford, no shocks on the bonnet, a few plastics in the interior and a few plastic switches 4 year warranty. i also watched a few vids on youtube with regards to build quality which were bad but i think that was first year models as the one i saw looked fine. one thing for sure though is bmw better quality and will probable age better.
