When I read through that list of mods for the first time, I thought "no way man, that's too much!". But seeing the pictures it makes sense and I can appreciate the love that went into this car. Some of the ideas make me want to do a refresh or touch up here and there - the wrap looks class - I usually don't like wraps at all, but this looks like a fine job.

I have always been a fan of PS4 tyres - have had 3 sets of those on different cars and they are so well balanced. I'm a tyre snob - a set of the right black ovals is easily the best and first mod for a car - poor tyres can ruin handling. That said when the time came to upgrade my PSS that came with the M, I decided on Conti Sport Contact 7 instead and I think these are the new standard for all round performance and grip. Consider them if you manage to hang on to this car long enough to need a new set in future.

Thanks for the detailed post - it was a fun read.

Thank you for the kind words. It really is a pleasure for me spending time on the car, and I do my best to look after it. Plan is to keep it for at least another 18 months. Will decide then what to do. As for tyres...I already have a brand new set of PS4's for the rears in the garage lol. But...I've always been keen on trying the continentals. I must say it's very good to hear first hand from another car enthusiast that they perform well...it gives me options going forward.

For the price difference, I would still go with Michelins... Was quoted R17 260 for conti sc7's and R18 300 for pss4s.

I had conti's on my daily and it's definitely a premium, well made tyre but I still think for the minimal price delta, you're better off with Michelins. The one advantage with conti is that if you purchase from best drive, they usually come with some sort of free tyre insurance, the only catch is that you have to do an annual alignment and wheel balancing at a best drive branch

This looks great man. Something so unique and different from the rest. I like the mod list and I see Rennzport sorted you out well. Great to see fanatics cars being done by fanatics/suppliers on the forum.

Sorry for hijacking OP's thread - I will give a proper review on the SC7 in a new post. But let me say this, based on my own testing (supported by every tyre eview where these went head to head), the SC7 does everything the PS4 does and then slightly better. Best of all it doesn't suffer the somewhat slow steering response, which would have been a deal breaker on my M2. And it has significantly more wet and dry grip, which allowed me to crank up the power a level.

End of hijack.

Ah man,
I am so happy to see this list, this car is one of the secrets in terms of its skeleton and all the happenings and we know you are a stickler for a good things done right the first time!
Brilliant bru, the car has transformed into something else and a one of a kind! Well done, loving the mods!!

For one question though, removing the resonator on the intake, did it make a massive difference on the sound by any chance? I see BMW has done them on quite a few engines from the F & G models.

Thank you for the kind words and support! I must be honest...I can't say yes or no. I had done the dp before the intake and with the MPE and dp I think it's difficult to hear any other changes lol. I recon in a small way it smoothes out airflow and maybe, maybe not makes a difference. But the look alone adds 5kW 😂

I love the wrap, colour looks fantastic and suits the 1 series well.

Now that she is out of plan, when are you adding a TU HPFP to that mod list?

Thanks man! 👍🏻

Actually I've already bought one, it's in the garage. The thing I've been playing with recently is timing corrections on our fuel quality. Been running some logs on 95 pump fuel and E10 mix (for those still learning like myself, that's a tank with 5L ethanol). Timing corrections on just 95 pump is not bad and within 'acceptable limits' but def better with E10 mix. Take away here is I'm OK on stage 2 with either pump or E10. Now I figure if I install the TU pump and go stage 2+ the timing corrections will increase on only pump fuel and I'll be hostage to an E10 or more mix...which I don't want to be. Bootmod3 themselves don't recommend stage 2+ on our pump fuel. And I've seen folks in distress trying to find ethanol.

So right now...I'm taking my time to figure out if I stay on stage 2 and have the option of pump or E10. or add the TU pump and go 2+.
