How can one modify it to fit the E90 fob? The shaft that holds the fob in place is too thick for the E90 key.

Yes, sorry i should have stated that, looking at it now, it does seem too thick, only way would be to slightly open the hole on e90 key, My opinion

I tried to modified it for an E90; it does not work.

Price is excellent, I bought mine at the dealers at R430 ....
