Some new parts

Bullet indicators

Left and right handlebar controls pretty much sorted. After much modification!

Stealth ignition/key installation

Oil sump removed, sludge removed and then a quick coat of paint.

Sorry forgot to take pictures after paint. A new oil filter installed and new oil.

Water/oil pump was leaking from the weep hole which indicated that the oil and or water seal had perished. Bought new seals, spacers and o rings from bmw and rebuilt the pump. No more leaks, or at least nothing yet.

Gave the tank a layer of primer and the same go's for the tail piece

Made a mounting template out of cardboard

Then proceeded to cut it from some spare metal I had lying around.

Some wiring fun awaits

A jigsaw initially, then used some grinding stones to clean up the shape and edges. It's not a piece of art, but the Tach/Speedo combo covers most of the plate and thus you can't see too many of the imperfections.

Okay so I didn't like the way the tacho was sitting on top of the triple tees, it took away from the naked and sleek lines you want to see on a café racer.

So I scrapped the old mounting method in favour of a new more simple design. The tach now sits parallel to the triple tees and the bike looks a lot cleaner and sharper.

I have also installed front and rear indicators with a bit of fabrication needed for both, specifically the rear.

I have made a small bracket for the front wheel and mounted the wheel speed sensor so the tach is now pretty much fully connected. The only thing remaining is an inline water temperature sensor that I'll be sorting out soon.

Next up is the water temperature sensor, temperature switching unit, fuel tank cap and a new clutch cable

Once again, sorry for the lack of updates, I'll try to do a write up soon of the most recent progress.

At the moment I'm trying to figure out the registration process, If anybody could provide some advice on the procedure I'd be most appreciative.

I have the registration certificate for the frame, which I still need to process the change of ownership. I haven't done this yet because I need to then have roadworthy done within 21 days.

I need to register the new engine to this frame. I am not sure exactly how to do this or when. I've heard that I would need to have the engine "data dotted" and something to do with police clearance.

Following that I would obviously need to obtain a license disc and plate for the bike, once roadworthy has been passed.

Please, if anyone could advise...

The seat is in progress at Leatherman D in Pretoria. The seat will be a black vinyl with straight ribs using a double white stitching.
