BMW iX - We've just received NZ pricing

240kW/630Nm iX xDrive40 Sport - $163,900
385kW/765Nm iX xDrive50 Sport - $197,900.

For comparison the ICE lineup starts with the Xdrive30d Edition at $ 126,900 topping out at the M50D at $185,900

Bottom line though - it's ugly as sin and very expensive even for this segment. It also has no front-trunk/frunk since the bonnet can only be opened with a special tool. Much better looking in person and especially in M-Sport spec when dressed in mineral white without all the blue "BMW i" bits. Also, I've not seen the red leather interior but apparently they are pretty popular. The Castanea red interior is pretty great looking especially on a white exterior but the wait time on orders with red leather is apparently quite high.

What are your thoughts on the looks? I am really struggling to find many positives design and styling wise on this car. As above and the interior is exceptional.

It looks to me like an i3 updated and “squished & pulled”…personally I detest the new grills on all 2021 models especially the M’s which this seems to harken back to.
And at that price I’m sure there is plenty to be had as better alternatives

I agree with you but I also think the colour doesn't do it any favours. I am sure a Black or any other darker colour will look much better. There isn't much character and the glass seems too much.

I played around with the UK configurator and yes, when optioned with regular paint it looks better, but only by a small margin. It’s an ugly, awkward looking car IMHO (UPDATED) until seen in person, in which case it becomes much better looking...
