Sorry, but maybe a silly question: Can you use this to calibrate and code a new steering angle sensor on an e46?

if it is coded on your ECU by the OEM then you can do what you please with it.

Picked up my cable today from the post office...

Was happy to see it's the exact same one they recommend on bmwcoding.com (the original pic here is slightly different)

Managed to follow the instructions on the disk and install INPA. Baring one or two little hiccups I got it running on my E46 325!

I only installed the INPA 5.01 version, I havent tried the 5.02 update yet, so it complained about a mismatched engine version or something, but I was able to view adaptation values, vanos timings, cylinder knock sensors, throttle position sensors, the works!

Hi guys

Anyone know where I can get the INPA software and a Ediabas K+DCAN USB cable. I PM'd VSOMAI but no reply.

Morning,

I bought mine from Electromannsa which is in Roodepoort but they costly there, not sure if they are 3rd party but I paid like R2500 for mine. Got the Blue one, the K+Dcan cable went for like R5K.

You can try ebay also but I am dead sure that on this forum you will get it cheaper then that. If money is not an issue then give Electromannsa a call on 0116753513 (they keep stock so you can drive there and collect, only nice thing about it).

I would try to get hold of VSOMAI to see his price

R5k is nuts, the real one is R1600 shipped. The clones are R400 and are hit and miss. To put it in perspective, you can buy a proper Icom for R8k landed, this is what the dealers use.

R2500.00 is hectic, check out the post in the DIY section, Ratslaaf is organising a group buy from OneStopElectronics of imported cables @ R1400.00 each, so drop him a PM if anyone is interested.

To Expensive, you can download inpa for free and modify a 409.1 VAG-COM cable, cable is about R200.

Get the Mod here
Modification of VAG-COM Cable to OBDII to work with INPA/DIS/SSS (Has D+K Can)

Although the OBDII to 20 pin converter is at a good price.

Anyone know where we can get this VAG cable, it seems like the one we are using for the E46 is only a modfied VAG cable anyway, because pin 7&8 in our cables are soldered together the same as in the VAG cable.

For the E46 that is ...

Anyone know yet if i can code my 335i E90 N55 yet?

Yes you can, but not with INPA, you should use NCS. It's part of theBMWTools download. If your INPA cable works, then you can code your car. When you come around I'll show you

If it comes via airmail, does one still pay tax on top of the original price plus the shipping charge, or does the shipping charge include all fees?

This is now really becoming a joke - the VAG cable just disappeared off Zasttra as an available product. :bangdesk:

Good afternoon

I bought a cable from Zasttra via bid or buy and it seems it's a dud.

INPA software works fine I get both battery and ignition lights solid black. But when I get to the injector screen to view the values and start coding I get a error #100 from INPA. I did some research and it seems generally the cable is to blame for that.

The Zasttra cable via Bidorbuy, why, you can order directly from Zasttra? On Which laptop are you running INPA, on an XP?

BTW, the software from Zasttra are full of glitches, ask Chris if he can help you with a more reliable version of INPA.

Yes, I got the cable via Bid or Buy. I wasn't aware that you can order directly from Zasttra. I tried with the Zasttra software initially with no success and then tried Vassilov's download and software and that worked. I got both the battery and ignition lights black but no dice trying to code the injectors.

Who is Chris? Sorry if this is a Noob question I'm a bit new to the forum.

I'm running windows 8.1 in XP SP3 compatibility mode.
