There are 2 sides of a coin. Why wouldn't they honour the work on the motor. Did he perhaps do something to f$ck up the MPlan?

that is an X1, not surprising though. my sister and bro-in-law bought an X1 2.0d X-Drive, and that car is heavy on diesel. 12l/100km in town, 7.0l/100km on the open road.

my 320i does less on the open road and in town than that:nonono:

At least this person is not taking it lying down like most customers (read money bag) would if BMW screwed them over. I like it.

Ja I wonder what happend. Anybody service their car at Bruma on this forum should ask them what happend. Well I know my little Ford bantam usses no oil between services and then there are new cars on this forum that have to check the petrol and put in the oil. If my car had to use so much oil I also will not stand for it. I think people should start standing together. These are high priced cars and should live up to our expectations

The X1 has a bigger body - in town weight usually dictates fuel consumption, on the open road frontal area x cd. The X1 has more of everything in all the equations, so no surprise that it will have a high consumption.

I agree that this story most likely has two sides - possibly a remap gone bad and he got caught after the engine was ruined? Or the car just broke and they will not honor motorplan, but in that case there is CPA. Many possibilities.

I wouldn't be quick at jumping to conclusions without hearing both sides of the story.

PS: My car is booked at Bruma for an oil service sometime next month :fencelook: Probably then I'll get to hear the full story....

Understandable P1000, but they returned the car within the first month and compained of the high fuel consumption, then BMW remapped the car and also changed the injectors and stuff cause they didnt know what was wrong. they even drove with another X1 2.0d X-Drive and it had lower consumption, in long distance and in-town trips. i am not comparing my 320i by no means, definitely lol, but their car is not going anywhere near 6l/10km unless they drive it at 90km/h on the highway or so. BMW SA is not handling the matter and trying to resolve it.

in all honesty, the stuff the guys complain about on this forum from BMW dealers are like mole hills compared to what service majority of the other brands experience in SA. im not even joking here. BMW are quite someway ahead of the competition and if you feel ure getting ripped with BMW, you are in for a surprise in other Areas.

I think only Porsche really supercedes BMW in all honesty..

Thing is, I can understand the X5, and even X3, but the X1 makes absolutely no sense to me at all! Plus it is one of the uglier styled BMW's that has come out recently! But, would be most interesting to know more about the nature of this car's problem and all the various angles - 'people' are perfectly capable of breaking a car under motorplan due to mistreatment, so more info is needed!!

Porsche has 6times the markup that BMW has, and they are the top two marked-up brands... BMW's interior build quility is a lot better than Porsche IME...

Twinz, I reckon whatever happened, happened after he bought the car. Surely no one would buy a car off a bad reputation? I must admit that I too am miffed with the agents and I've given them up. They just don't seem to care about the customer. And they give one the impression that they're doing you a favour by assisting occasionally or even talking to you. So now I use indies. But it certainly doesn't encourage BMW ownership, IMO.
